About Us
Action in the Community To Support North Wales and Cheshire (ACTS)Our Vision and Values
Our vision is to encourage and enable people to demonstrate kindness in practical ways. We believe that demonstrating kindness is one way to encourage community, social inclusion and to strengthen society.
We don’t believe in a ‘one-size fits all’ approach, where we pretend that if people give us money then we solve society’s problems or issues. Instead, we want to equip people to be able to do kind things for others so people get to know that someone does care.
We believe in being open and transparent. To this end, you will find information about our charity on the rest of this page.
Our Governance
We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission. We have a legal governing document (called a ‘constitution’) which stipulates that the charity’s trustees are its only members.
Our constitution states that our charitable purpose is:
The relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in Chester, West Cheshire or North Wales by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities
Gift Aid
We are registered with the Gift Aid scheme. The scheme allows us to claim money back on donations you make, as long as you pay sufficient tax. Details of the scheme can be found on Gift Aid Page and you can fill in an online declaration Gift Aid form.
