Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a scheme that allows charities to claim extra money based on donations. ACTS is registered with HMRC for the Gift Aid scheme.

Details are available on our Gift Aid page where you can also find forms to download. If you are eligible, you can fill in a Gift Aid declaration for us.

How It Works

If you are a UK taxpayer, you must fill in a declaration for us to be able to claim Gift Aid. When we do have a declaration, we will claim 25p extra for every £1 you donate (at no cost to you).

You need to pay UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax. You also need to pay at least as much tax in a year as we claim in Gift Aid for your donations. So, if you do not pay income tax (because, for example, you earn less than the personal tax allowance) then you should not fill out a form.

Donating to ACTS

If you want to give a donation to us, but you don’t mind what we use the donation for, then you can do so in one of three ways:

  1. Donate online. Visit the ACTS donation page on the Springboard Chester website, where you can donate to the charity with either a monthly or one-off gift. You can donate using GoCardless (where you donate using a Direct Debit payment) or using PayPal (where you can donate with a credit / debit card or a PayPal account). Note that we have to a pay a fee to process a donation online.
  2. Send us a cheque.
  3. Process a bank transfer.

If you wish to send a cheque or process a bank transfer, then please get in touch with us using our Contact Us page and we’ll send you all the details you need.

If you would like to donate to one of the people that we are currently looking to support, then please visit our Applications Page. Here you can see a list of all the current applications – choose which one you would like to donate to and select the ‘Donate’ button.
